In the videos, Radio City presenter Pete Price and Ben Ellis, Personalised Technology Coordinator for Hft, part of the Mi partnership, take a tour around a show house fitted with assisted living technology.
The Smart House has been designed to demonstrate how technology such as telecare can enable people to live independently.
Funded by the UK’s Technology Strategy Board (TSB), the Mi Smart House is an interactive installation designed to show the range of products available to help people lead more independent lives in their own homes. Visitors to the Smart House are able to test out the ‘life enhancing technologies’ for themselves in a ‘real home’ setting and gain an insight into how the products can benefit a wide range of people, including those with existing needs such as dementia.
The new videos feature a range of telecare systems including a carbon monoxide detector, bogus caller button, smoke alarm and flood detectors.
The Mi Smart House is open 11am-4pm daily on the first floor of the Museum of Liverpool.
